Discover Paint and Sip Art Classes in Sussex with Lucy Tyler

Are you looking for a creative and relaxed way to socialise in Sussex? Lucy Tyler’s Paint and Sip classes are the perfect choice.

Based in Worthing, Lucy is a nurturing, patient instructor who invites people of all levels to explore their artistic side with no previous experience required.

I attended one of Lucy’s Paint and Sip classes in Worthing as a date night with my husband, and we both had such a fun evening!

What Is a Paint and Sip Session?

A Paint and Sip (also called Cocktails & Canvases) event is a guided painting class held in a social venue, such as a cocktail bar or cosy pub.

Guests can enjoy small plates and delicious drinks alongside their painting session, overall enhancing the experience. I, for one, adore the concept of enjoying a tasty cocktail alongside getting creative. Gone are the days of getting smashed in the pub; many people are seeking to socialise in a more meaningful way.

Lucy leads participants step-by-step to create their masterpiece, but always encourages personal expression and freedom to shine.

Her sessions typically last around three hours, with all materials supplied, including canvas, easels, paints, brushes, aprons and her expert creative guidance throughout.

Attendees are welcome to follow her template on display; however, adding your own unique spin on your painting is highly encouraged.

Paint and Sip Venues & Atmosphere

Lucy hosts her classes in cosy, friendly venues across Worthing, including pubs, cafés, event spaces and studios. Lucy can also be available to host sessions outside of Worthing.

One regular venue Lucy hosts her sessions in is VUDU, a central Worthing bar serving some of the most theatrical cocktails, including one served in a tiny bathtub and one served in a huge diving helmet! VUDU’s small plates are absolutely delicious, ranging from sake balls and dim sum to satay and crispy duck.

Paint and Sip with Lucy – my experience

One of Lucy’s greatest strengths is her warm and supportive style. Her teaching is described as nurturing and patient, whilst always tailored to help each student tap into their strengths and boost confidence.

This was my experience of Lucy; she gently reassures those who might question their artistic abilities. My other half had a slight wobble mid-session as he felt he had messed up. He had not painted creatively since he was in school. Lucy was there to guide and encourage him to finish his masterpiece, boosting his confidence along the way.

Initially, I was sceptical about how my painting might turn out, as I too often question my artistic ability. I was pleasantly surprised in the end that, although I am not yet Picasso, I was satisfied with my finished piece. With Lucy’s guidance and encouragement, I produced a gorgeous Sicilian-style citrus fruit-inspired painting.

I loved seeing how others interpreted the guide painting and put their own twist on theirs. Some use bolder colours or more intricate designs.

Private Sessions & Group Bookings (Perfect for Christmas Parties)

Some people prefer a more exclusive experience, and thankfully, Lucy offers private Paint and Sip sessions and paint parties for groups, which is ideal for corporate events, gatherings such as hen dos, birthdays, family events, or festive celebrations.

Lucy’s paint sessions make the perfect Christmas party, a refreshing alternative to a stuffy sit-down meal.

Get your team together and enjoy a creative and memorable event under Lucy’s gentle guidance. The sample painting is often festive for the time of year, making the end result a thoughtful gift or keepsake. Alternatively, you can suggest a theme for the event to suit the groups interests.

How To Book a Sip and Paint with Lucy

To book a public class or enquire about a private session, you can contact Lucy via her website at Lucy Tyler Artist or email lucytylerartist@gmail.com.

Lucy is very responsive despite being so busy and in demand! Spaces are limited in many of her events, and they often sell out quickly, so early booking is recommended.
